The University Library’s Copyright Service provides information and guidance to staff and students on all aspects of copyright.

We are here to:
  • Respond to enquiries via the telephone, email or in person
  • Seek permissions directly from copyright owners for materials required for teaching purposes and which are not covered by any of our licences
  • Manage the University's copyright related licences including the Copyright Licencing Agency HE licence
  • Deliver copyright training to individuals and groups of staff and students

Please note we are unable to provide legal advice, but where we are unable to provide a definite yes or no we will give you as much guidance as we can to help you with your enquiry. If we are not in a position to deal with your enquiry we will direct you to the most relevant service or organisation to meet your needs.

Telephone: 0191 243 7314 or 0191 227 3597
