The University Library is "cashless", which enables us to offer services 24/7 and ensures that we comply with financial regulations.

To make payments as simple as possible, a wide range of cashless options are available including contactless (wave & pay), Chip & PIN, UpayChilli, and Apple Pay.

Cash can still be used in the vending machines within the libraries.

Online payments (Library fines and print credit)

If you wish to pay your library fines online with a debit or credit card, simply login into your library account via Library Search , and then select "Fines & fees" from the left hand side and follow the instructions.

You can also add credit (minimum £1) to your printing account online using a debit or credit card. Please note credits can take up to 1 hour to update within your account. Simply go to https://www.northumbria.ac.uk/sd/central/finance/epayments/printcred/.

Contactless (Wave and Pay)

For any purchases up to the value of £30, you can use a credit or debit card which has contactless technology. If your card has this facility, the contactless symbol will be shown on it.

Chip & PIN

For purchases of more than £5, you can use Chip & PIN with either a credit or a debit card.

Apple Pay

If you have an iPhone or an Apple Watch you can use your device to make contactless payments. For further details please go to the Apple website.

Upaychilli

UpayChilli is the smarter way to pay on campus, not just at the Library. You'll be able to pay for food, drinks and shopping (excluding Londis and Habita) using your University Smartcard or a smartphone. Benefits include:

· Guest top-up, where friends or family members can add funds to your account

· Increased safety and security

· Managing your account quickly and easily online or via a smartphone app (windows, android and iOS)

· Alerts and notifications that help you keep track of your spending

For further details, or to create an account please go to the UpayChilli website.
